Get ready to sparkle

What are toothgems?

Toothgems are small crystals that are attached to your tooth. They are applied using a special dental adhesive, without drilling or damaging the tooth. The procedure is completely painless and usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the design.

How long do toothgems last?

This varies from person to person. On average, a gem can last anywhere from a few months up to 2 years. This depends on factors such as oral hygiene, eating habits and the position of the tooth.
Want your toothgem removed? It can be removed quickly and safely by your dentist or dental hygienist.

Golden gems

Gold and white gold tooth gems are not kept in stock and must be ordered in advance.

For gold tooth gems, a €50 deposit is required. This deposit will be deducted from the remaining balance during your appointment. After placement, you will receive a 2-month warranty.

Before booking an appointment, I kindly ask for a clear photo of your teeth so I can assess whether the chosen gem is suitable for placement.

Please visit the Inspiratie page to view the available gold tooth gems.

Aftercare

- After placement, you should not eat or drink for 2 hours. Drinking water is allowed.
- Do not consume carbonated drinks or alcohol within 24 hours after placement, and avoid coffee for atleast 4 hours.
- If you smoke, it's best to wait a few hours after placement
- Do not brush your teeth over the gems on the first evening. You can brush again the next day.
- The adhesive continues to harden a little during the first 48 hours. Try not to switch directly between very hot and very cold food or drinks during the first two days. This gives your tooth gem the best chance to bond properly.
-Be (and remain) careful with hard and sticky food, as most gems come off eventually due to this reason. If you accidentally swallow a gem, don't worry! it's harmless.

Warranty

Every tooth reacts differently to the adhesive, and this cannot be predicted beforehand. That is why I offer a 3 week warranty. If your gem falls off within this period, I will replace it one time free of charge. Please make sure to carefully follow the aftercare instructions.

For gold toothgems, a 2-month warranty applies.

Please note: By law, I am not allowed to remove tooth gems or adhesive residue. A dentist or dental hygienist can remove these quickly and safely for you

Frequently asked questions

Before booking an appointment, please read through these questions. If you don't find the answer you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact!

Can anyone get toothgems?

Toothgems are suitable for most people! However, there are a few exceptions. Toothgems can only be applied to natural teeth that are free from fillings or damage. During your appointment, I will always check your teeth and together we can determine what placement options are possible.

If you wear a removable retainer that completely covers your teeth, tooth gems are not recommended. The pressure from the retainer and the tight fit around your teeth will cause the gems to come off sooner if not immediately.

How can I pay?

You can pay in cash or with a QR code.

Can I bring someone to my appointment?

Preferably come alone due to limited space, unless you let me know in advance or have an appointment together.

Can I bleach my teeth with toothgems?

I do not recommend this, because a color difference can appear once the gem comes off. The whitening process can also effect the durability of the gem, which may cause it to come off more quickly. I recommend whitening your teeth first and only placing a gem afterwards.

Can I buy a giftcard?

Yes you can! You can pick up a giftcard by appointment but I can also easily send it to you by post. You can pay for the amount on the card through a payment request. Shipping is free!

Can I remove my tooth gem myself?

Tooth gems can sometimes be removed by carefully applying pressure to the edge of the gem with dental floss or tweezers. However, this may leave adhesive residue behind. I always recommend having your tooth gem removed by a dentist or dental hygienist.

Where are you located?

On Saturdays, I work from Liquid Sky Tattoos at the Paraplufabrieken in Nijmegen, just a 3-minute walk from Nijmegen Central Station.

On all other days, appointments take place in a private setting in Arnhem-Zuid, near Kronenburg Shopping Center. The exact address will be provided after your appointment has been booked.

My toothgem came off, but the backing is still attached!

This can sometimes happen, especially when a lot of pressure has been put on the gem, for example by biting down on something very hard. You can easily have this polished off by a dentist or dental hygienist. Always remain careful with what you bite into.

Are personal ideas/designs welcome?

Absolutely! All designs and ideas are open for discussion. You can always send me a message about your ideas beforehand. During the appointment, I'll look at the shape of your teeth and what is possible.

From what age do you place toothgems?

Toothgems are best suited for ages 16 and up. Gems on younger teeth often do not stay on as well and can come off more quickly.

Do you have gold toothgems in stock?

No, gold gems are not kept in stock and need to be ordered in advance. I would also like to receive a clear photo beforehand of the tooth you would like the gem to be placed on. You can add the photo in the contact form!

What should I keep in mind after getting a toothgem?

Besides following the aftercare instructions, it is important to keep the area around your tooth gem clean to prevent plaque buildup.
Be mindful of hard and sticky foods, as these may cause the gem to come loose. The longer the gem stays in place, the more important good oral hygiene becomes.
